Definition and Usage

The getUTCMinutes() method returns the minutes of a time according to the Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).

Syntax

dateObject.getUTCMinutes()

Tips and Notes

Note: The value returned by getUTCMinutes() is a two digit number. However, the return value is not always two digits, if the value is less than 10 it only returns one digit.

Note: This method is always used in conjunction with a Date object.

Tip: The Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) is the time set by the World Time Standard.

var d = new Date();
document.write(d.getUTCMinutes());

Here we will extract the UTC minutes from the specific date and time:

<script type="text/javascript">
var born = new Date("July 21, 1983 01:15:00");
document.write(born.getUTCMinutes());
