Definition and Usage
The rel attribute specifies the relationship between the current page and the URL (web resource).
This attribute specifies what the target URL is in relation to the current
page.
Note: This attribute, with the value "nofollow", is used by Google to
specify that the Google search spider should not follow that link. (Mostly used
for paid links)
